How to Post a Profile Photo

Your profile photo is a great way to remind people who you are, especially if you've met other Hub members at a conference or a meeting. But you can submit anything you like as your profile photo.  The only guideline is that you should either post a picture of yourself, or of something that expresses your personality; we would prefer that you not post a picture of somebody else as your own profile. That's just confusing.

(If you haven't uploaded a profile picture yet, you will look like our default graphic, a light bulb. Cute, but we'd like you to submit your own profile photo so that we can differentiate you from all the other light bulbs out there.)

TIP: If the profile photo you submit isn't square, it's cropped until it is. Rather than lose part of your head, best to square off your photo before submitting it. The photo will be reduced (or enlarged) to 183 x 183 pixels, so an image that size or slightly larger is best.

Here is how to submit a profile picture:

1. Find the picture you want to represent you.
2. Sign in — you should see "Hello, [your name]" in a box near the top right of your screen.
3. In that same box, click on "My Settings".
4. Click on the box next to "Profile Photo"
5. Select "Upload an image from your computer"
6. Click on "Browse..."
7. Use the resulting dialog box to select the photo file from your computer
8. Click "Done"
9. Click "Save"
