The Hub

Photo Albums: We welcome photos that either document a related event (like Mindcamp) or that reflect or express an idea about creativity. Just click "Photos" and then "Add Photos" and follow the instructions to either upload them directly or create a link to one of your flickr albums, if you have such. Once you've added some photos, consider turning them into an album, to make it easier for others to look through what interests them. While in the "Photos" section, click "All Albums" and then "Add an Album".

Previous Tips:

The Smart Way to Post a Video: To add a video from Youtube, Google, TED talks, etc. click "Videos", then "Add Videos", then find where it says "...from YouTube or Google" and click "Add Video" under that. You will get a box into which you can paste the embed code that most of these sites provide (click here to see where to find that on YouTube as an example).

Profile Photo — hip to be square: If the profile photo you submit isn't square, it's turned into one. Thus rectangular images get cut off, either top and bottom, or the sides, depending on orientation. Rather than lose part of your head, why not "square off" your photo before submitting it?

Making a Link: If you want to make a hyperlink in your comment or blog entre, type something like "click here" or the URL (if short), then highlight those words and click on the little link icon at the top of the text box (see pic) — it's supposed to look like a little three-link chain on its side. This will bring up a dialog box inviting you to paste the URL into it.

Blogs vs Forums: The front page of The Hub features the 5 most recent user blog entries and forum discussions. However blog entries (and associated discussion) live in the "My Blog" section of the person who posted them, whereas forums live in the "Forum" section.
