Hi Blanka, Have you found some literature/research for your review? If so, I'm interested in what you found and what your focus is. By focus I am wondering to what extent you might be narrowing your search. For for example are you interested in T...

About Me:
I like big dreams and little actions which make them come true. I believe good intentions drive everyone's behavior and it's my responsibility to remind myself and others of that, when needed. I enjoy experience's of being "comfortably threatened" whether through travel to new places, choosing a food I don't know, conversing with those I disagree with or dealing with the fact that I stained my fresh white shirt just before a very important meeting.

I work as a facilitator, speaker, trainer and coach in the areas of intentional creative thinking, innovation, team-building and leadership.

I am a co-founder of the Singapore International Affiliate of the American Creativity Association, a primary resource for learning and applying creativity, innovation, problem-solving, and ideation theory, tools, and techniques.

I offer facilitation and training expertise ranging from business and industry to education and the arts; providing a wide range of problem-solving methods, from simple idea-capture techniques to complex problem-solving methodologies.

Habit? Challenge. Repeat.

In Malcolm Gladwells' article How David Beats Goliath he shares an oft shared strategy basically declaring the most effective way for the underdog to win is by breaking the rules. He talks about the value of not knowing the rules, challenging rules you do know, creating new rules and repeating the process with the new rules you create.

Of particular interest to me is the underdog strate… Continue

Learning How to Think

Experts turn out to be a stunningly poor source of expertise. What matters in making a sound forecast or decision isn’t so much knowledge or experience as good judgment — or, to be more precise, the way a person’s mind works.

Hi Garth,
I'm Mark's wife.

I may not find too much time for the Hub and the thinking but friendship is a good place to start.

Thinking about things, if you contact Mark (Abrahams) he and I will talk and aim to correspond.

Hiya Garth,
Do you mind if I tag along with the many different paths you have laid?

I may not have a huge amount of time to contribute but I'm working out how to stay in touch. Seems that many pop into the hub for a look around but haven't the time to get involved. Understandable!

I'm asking you to add me as a friend. I may only add bitesize thinking but, to build the box from which we can get, to be outside enjoying the overview, you gotta have a lot of little or useless thoughts to make up the one that could just work - if you get the support in place.

I hate it when ideas fail because they weren't built right. And I've had a few of those.

All the very best to you

Thanks for the kind words, Garth, and for accepting my friendship invitation.

Lets check out our schedules after you return from LA and see if we can arrange to meet for lunch.

Hi Garth,
Truthfully, what I was really trying to do was to be provocative and get some educators talking in specifics about what they're doing and their successes and failures with their attempts. In other words, show me why we shouldn't stand in the light. My provocation didn't work. Anyway, I enjoy your posts. You're doing a lot of good stuff.
Best, Michael

Hey, Garth.

In the once popular vernacular..."It's all good!"

I'm having fun with all of this, and I hope everyone else is doing the same. I think we'll get some good stuff out of it yet!

On a personal level, I want you to be open and honest with me. I also hope you realize that I do respect you. On a very human level, I love you. Sometimes it can be hard to discuss an issue or a particular behavior without offending someone...and offending an individual is never my intent. It gets us nowhere, ya know?

Anyway, everything is good between us, and I don't imagine that it ever won't be. We can agree and disagree about stuff all day long, but in the end, it's just not that serious. My heart smiles through all this stuff.
See? I can wax poetic too! (Always my way of playing, dang it! I always notice that we each talk about the same things...sometimes I just think the language we use to do it can be important and can make our points more clear and accessible to everyone.)

All the best,

--Tracy

Garth, there are just so much truth in how the dynamics of classroom interactions has changed, especially in the face of what technology has opened the many new doors to our kids today. Thanks for anchoring the discussion back to the evergreens!

Thanks Garth. I really enjoyed all your thoughtful views and insights. Truly thought provoking. I am amazed with what u hav done in Spore. Suzzana was a Head of Dept but she has left teaching to join her hubby Hector to pursue their PhD. I have just completed my Masters in Creativity Studies and Change Leadership in Buff State College (yes, Hector and Suzzana were the ones who introduced me to the class) and am looking further to furthering more of creativity in my work in the Ministry of Ed as a curriculum planner. I look forward to further discussions.

Do check out my other blogs too (ie. http://create-teeth-buzz.blogspot.com , http://bring3take3.blogspot.com, http://think-learn-grow.blogspot.com) as I love to hear what you may think. The world is Flat with great folks who are passionate to bring the best out of others! You'r the Man!
