Before all else I will read through. On your behalf, I will look after this treasure. Yet, your ideas and proposals need to be spread.
There is a new member on the Hub with whom I invite you to link up. Rachel Pickett is a newish teacher who wants to introduce designed thinking into the classroom.
Perhaps you would be prepared to offer to be Hub friends with Rachel and to lend some of your thinking to her. As for your work (INCORPORATING THINKING TOOLS TO ENHANCE
FACILITATION OF PROBLEM-BASED LEARNING), how are you proposing to enable it to be used?
Can I help to facilitate and manage that?
Could it be lodged with www.ideaconnection.com ?
We could even use the ThinkSpace tool at IdeaConnection to help work out how best to communicate your ideas. As the author, it is your decision. As for me, I won’t do anything else until I hear from you. I seek your permission to proceed with what you wish to do, proposing to carefully work to best share what you have put your heart and soul into.
Cheers back
M.
Can I discuss your paper with others - better still, is it possible to have a copy of the final version?
Hope all is good for you.
M.
Ideas gratefully appreciated but first about you! Hope all went well at conference.
At times of down & right sizing and yet aiming to upslope, the opportunities for innovative solutions must present themselves more so. It will all be about marketing and simple selling of your paper as the product which education needs to face what is to come.
As for me, my main approach, given that I am writing my business plan, is to identify what makes sense for me to apply me valuable time to. I am looking to work collaboratively, including specialist estates management and survey services, targeting better asset management, accurate data used to assure systemic and intellectual decisions and outcomes – keeping risk and compliance issues firmly in mind. This subject matter is not innovative but the methods, quality, performance and efficiency elements will be. As a consultancy business, I will also be working to support, generate, facilitate and yes, sell solutions and web activity. If you’d like to know more about IdeaCONNECTION, I’d happily oblige. You could even contemplate joining me, linking up with them. I’d happily introduce you to CEO, Scott Wurtele. This could be a way for you to promote your paper more and internationally. Perhaps we can ‘talk’ more of this. At least sign up for the Newsletter at www.ideaconnection.com
Capturing your ideas for me to contemplate, I’m simply listing headings here – for review:
Idea 1:
- Tap into my network / steer away from generic types of training and consultancy.
- Leverage on current needs / use my "newness" to advantage
- Lend fresh perspectives to current needs
Reframe the situation, my strength being my enthusiasm so that I may:
- inject novelty - less restrained by past tensions.
Idea 2:
- Tap into Ning - looking for pp keen on outsourcing projects or seeking collaboration.
- Offer myself as a way to partner, co-design or provide various levels of front end networking (I’m offering that service to you John)
- My network will be a good way to make more connections.
This is good stuff – thanks again. I’m pretty focused now and am dealing with the tricky business of budgets, cash flows and profit & loss considerations – such is the world of self employment.
To other matters, have a look at this from Gregg Fraley http://www.greggfraley.com/blog/?p=190.
In any innovative team-based operation, these 21 points are worthy of ticking off, to make sure focus is maintained. This came out of the CPSI conference. It would be great, on day, to meet up with you at CSPI.
As for your helpful offerings – you have been the best of help – so thanks. I am honoured to be your friend.
Take care
Later
Mark
Your supportive comments much appreciated.
During this time of transition (for me, my family and let's face it, the world economy - chasing best solutions to many challenges, not the least seeking sustainable solutions tackling the connected issues of financial crackdown / contraction and climate change implications) I'd like to think I could somehow positively contribute....and yes, it is an exciting opportunity and challenge.
However, the intrinsic requirement is to set up a business which can not only survive but which can successfully develop. I have to provide a service and a product which people will not only want but which they will happily pay for (to pay my mortgage and support my family).....so lot's of CPS thinking, business planning and networking to do before I can settle to actually do the business I am aiming at.
When my business and purpose is properly developed I will explain more.
For now, I can but recommend IdeaConnection - the only area of my business that is up and running. If you can provide any business leads I'd be grateful...we (at IdeaCONNECTION) have much to offer and I can provide detail. Though I represent England, my business 'turf' is not inclusive or exclusive. The world is our innovation oyster. The purpose here, is to nurse innovation and ideas thro' to sucessful solution and to link up to inform as many as are interested regarding the great innovations that are already out there. 'Education', following all strands, will be key to all in the future.
I recommend, to you and your friends, signing up for the IdeaConnection newsletter if nothing else. Any IdeaConnection business I can help with should have code MA17 registered (back at base), so that I can track it and support it.
To other things:
Have you presented already at the 'International Conference on Thinking' (with Howard Gardner and Edward de Bono etc)? If so, how did it go? Is there a link I could follow? If not, and only if you get an opportunity, please give my regards to Edward De Bono, from one who appreciates his blog messages (via Holst Group) and as a careful listening contributor, whenever I have a view worth offering.
Keep up the excellent work John. I’m sure you will leave your comfort zone again, stretching more in support of your work, nursing home your ideas and proposals, to deliver the dream (or as close as can be achieved)....remembering that, without you, what you have achieved could never have been so. Well done.
Great to hear from you. Will respond properly soon. For reasons I won't bother you with, I've only just recd this message...so APOLOGIES for the delay in getting back to you.
Much is changing, work wise, for me. I am presently 'in between jobs' and setting up a consultancy business. I'm just about to start working for IdeaCONNECTION. Feel free to email me on Mark.Abrahams@ideaconnection.com ...but first lets catch up, using the Hub, which has been a great source of friendship and learning for me.
Trust your family is well and, I bet, growing and making your smile every day.
Best
Mark
How goes it.
I'd love to hear an update from you.
All the best
Mark
Good to hear from you again
Bye now
M.
How goes it John?
Hope you had a great break in Singapore.
I got close last month (Koh Samui, Thailand).
Barbara and I visited New York, Los Angeles, Fiji, New Zealand (our 2nd home), Australia and Thailand. It was a great experience.
Now comes that hard part - settling back into the home rhythm.
I note you joined the Lateral Thinking group.
Perhaps we could meet there.
All the best
Mark
Just saying "hi"
Hope all goes well with you and yours
Mark
So, if you like to have a read of my plans, I'll love to email to you. At least, in my capacity, thinking skills is my BIG project in mind and hopefully concurrently, differentiating instructions based on a better awareness of our learning preferences. :)
